Can you believe the weekend is here already? This was a busy week so hopefully the weekend will be a relaxing one. There is lots going on but I love Charleston weekends.
Someone asked me once what I envisioned as my perfect weekend. As I thought about it, so many scenarios came to mind that it was hard to choose.
The first one would be me at a beach house. Each morning I wake up, go for a morning walk along the shore, watching the sunrise. My day would be spent either on the beach or on a porch overlooking the ocean, maybe writing my newest book, reading a good book or drawing. My evenings would be spent with family and friends, watching the sunset and either going out to eat or having some sort of cookout while we listen to the waves roll in. Then before going to bed, taking another walk in the sand before lying down for a bit of stargazing. The beach is perfect for this because of the lack of ambient light.
My next scenario might sound a bit crazy because it is very opposite from my first one. But if it were a rainy weekend, I would get up and make a terrific homemade breakfast then spend the rest of the day probably watching movies or binging on Netflix. I’m certain that I would probably do some writing because for some reason rainy days make good writing days. Plus, if I was home, I would spend time in my writing/art nook trying a new craft. In the evenings, maybe get a good takeout meal so I wouldn’t have to cook or do just the opposite: take the time to cook a full out meal with all the trimmings. It would just depend on my mood. Oh, and sometime during the day, I would probably take a nap because that is especially relaxing when you can hear the rain falling on the roof.
These are just two scenes I can see in my head and there are times where what I imagine has come close to reality. Maybe not spending the weekend at a beach house but the beach is close enough that I can go watch a sunrise or sunset. Even spend the whole day by the shore if I wanted. As for those rainy weekends? Have done a few of those too and they are just as nice.
So now I ask you: How would you describe your perfect weekend? I would love to hear your ideas.
