Happy first day of July! Can you believe the first half of the year is over? WOW! This week is time for that mid-year check-up to see how you’re doing with those yearly plans and goals you made back in January. That’s what I’ll be doing the next few days but I’m also having so much fun with my “Summer Camp” ideas and writing about my “Journal Spark” or prompts as most would call them.
“Summer Camp” Update: This week was “play time”. I gathered up the supplies to do some things I used to do as a child. I played hopscotch courtesy of some sidewalk chalk I used to draw on our driveway. I got a giant bubble wand and had bubbles blowing all over our yard. I took my baton out that I hadn’t used in forever and was twirling away except for the occasional smack on my arm and once on my head! Plus for a new game it was driving and stopping all over the place to play the new Harry Potter game app “Wizards Unite!” – oh so much fun!
Yes, I had to attend to some adult stuff too. Actually, my mom was admitted to the hospital so there was some stress but playing these games from my past and the new game app helped with the tension of real life. I highly recommend you go on your own “Summer Camp” expedition for the next several weeks and see what you come up with for yourself. You never know what kind of fun you’ll have.
Now for the Journal Sparks (prompts)! I really hope that you are enjoying the prompts and by now you should have quite a few written in your journal. If so, go back and read some of your answers to those first journal prompts. Now that you have some distance from the first time you saw the question you might find that you are doing things differently, trying something new or making a new habit/getting rid of an old habit.
With that being said, here is this week’s Journal Prompts! Since last week I got to explore games from my childhood, the theme this week is “Play”!
1. What was your favorite toy as a child?
2. Do you like to play board games? Why or why not?
3. Do you enjoy watching animated movies?
4. What games did you enjoy playing outside when you were a child?
5. Do you enjoy going to amusement parks? Why or why not?
6. Did you like to run around outside barefoot when you were a child? Do you still do this now?
7. What one crazy thing you did as a child?
Hope these prompts took you on a path of fun down memory lane and maybe gave you a desire to do something you used to do as a kid!
