I was asked the other day what my favorite book was as a child. Though I loved reading all types of books, the first thing that came to mind was “Little House on the Prairie” by Laura Ingalls Wilder.
I can’t remember how old I was when I read the first book but I do know that once I finished that book, I couldn’t stop till I had read all the books in the series. I loved every minute of them so much. I think it was the idea of going out west, leaving the security of known for the unknown. Plus the fact that it was based on a real person’s journey. Now, as I write this, it makes me want to go back and read them again. Might do that after I’ve finish writing my current book.
What books did you like as a child? Do you still like a variation of them today? Example: If you read westerns when you were younger, do you read westerns now? I have to admit I still like reading about other’s lives. It seems there is so much they can share with us and to read what some went through and persevered is such an inspiration.
What were you favorite childhood books?
