I figured this would be a great question to ask since it is the being the beginning of a new year: What is your favorite form of exercise or way to get in great physical shape?
I’ve already written about how I’m into a Self-Care routine this year (or working on I should say) and exercise is definitely on the list. But I’m not one for conventional exercise and I’m not a person who likes to go to the gym. I bought a great pair of shoes for walking, which Jeff and I are going to start doing each day, but my favorite form of exercise is Dancing!
I used to dance when I was a young girl. I took tap, jazz, and ballet on pointe. I danced for nine years and loved every minute. These days I like to just turn on some music and move. The type of music depends on my mood and how I’m feeling that day. But I love to country line dance!
When line dancing was super popular back in the 90’s (I think!), I went to clubs and learned so many of the dances. Now, for exercise, I try to remember them, putting on the old songs that were so popular to dance too. It might not sound like it but it will give you a good workout.
The best thing for me about dancing is that I’m getting exercise while doing something I love, something I enjoy. I think that is the whole tip to sticking to an exercise routine. It has to be something you enjoy or it will be very hard to stay motivated to keep going and get or stay in shape.
