Last night Jeff and I had a terrific evening! We both needed some laughs, so we went to see a comedy show for our date night.
We both like the comedian/ventriloquist Jeff Dunham and he made a stop here in Charleston on his latest comedy tour. With all the stress we’ve had lately and knowing that laughter is truly great medicine, we combined a good dose of laughs with our weekly date night. Jeff Dunham’s humor was off the charts and we laughed till our sides hurt – in a good way!
But more importantly yesterday evening was our time together as a couple. We’ve been making sure we have at least one (if not more) date time/night each week. Not that anything is wrong with our relationship – actually it’s awesome – but we want our marriage to continue to grow closer and stronger each day. So we set some intentions to make sure we develop new habits that make us better partners/friends/spouses.
The takeaway today is twofold. First, take time each day for some laughter. As I said earlier, laughter truly is wonderful medicine. Find those things such as movies, books, comedy specials (look on YouTube) and more that tickle your funny bone. The second thing is to make sure you’re making that special someone in your life a priority. If you find yourself single at the moment, then that special someone is you! Set intentions to improve your relationship even if it’s already terrific – there are always ways to make it even better.
