Gotta Love The Farmer’s Market
Yesterday I finally got to do something I’ve been looking forward to all summer: going to the Farmer’s Market. And I loved every minute of it.
First of all, I made sure to go early, as soon as they were set up. I need to avoid the heat as much as possible but do love the outdoors. When I was there, the weather was near perfect except for a warm temperature. But a nice light breeze made it better.
I loved that I was able to buy produce, eggs and chicken from local farmers. My husband and I have made some simple changes lately and one has been to buy local as much as possible, especially with our food. It was so nice to be able to talk to the actual people that grow the food we eat.
Then there were plenty of artisans. I saw beautiful paintings, metal sculptures (a palm tree and a sea turtle!), handmade jewelry, homemade soaps and so much more. Thank goodness I only had a certain amount of money with me or I would have spent much more than I did!
Besides finding some beautiful produce, I finally found an aloe plant that I have been searching for over the last few months. I’ve wanted to grow my own aloe to use it for cosmetic purposes but also for home remedies for burns and insect bites.
If you have a local Farmer’s Market that you can visit, I encourage you to go. Not only are you supporting local businesses but also you’ll be getting fresh from the farm food.
Big Hugs!
