So even though I’m finishing my next novel – “Camping in High Heels: Yellowstone” – I still make time to read other books. I especially love audiobooks but there are times when I just like to hold a book in my hands.
Right now I’ve go several on my nightstand where I keep my current “to read” book stash. They are:
–“The Girl Boss Workbook” by Sophia Amoruso. This woman was a powerhouse when it came to forming her own business and she still is. I love the way the book is laid out, giving you lots of space for creativity. You can mark it up, color it, journal in it – whatever. She even has a page you are suppose to cutout and make a card! And so far this book has quite a few tips, not only for your life in the business world but tips for everyday living.
–“100 Days of Real Food” & “100 Days of Real Food: Fast & Fabulous” by Lisa Leake. I adore both of these cookbooks. About 7 years ago, Lisa and her family challenged themselves: go 100 days without eating any – I Mean NO – processed food! She said it really turned her thoughts around about the processed food industry. It changed her and her family’s health and the benefits of eating natural, whole foods were amazing. Since I’ve been eating unprocessed foods due to health issues, these cookbooks are right up my alley. And I loved that her family (they did this with a 3 year old and a 5 year old!) embraced the entire idea and now live this lifestyle permanently. You can check out her books but her website is great too! Head over to www.100daysofrealfood.com.
-For a nice fiction “Beach Book”, there is “The High Tide Club” by Mary Kay Andrews. I LOVE Mary Kay’s books. Every one that I have read has humor, love, intrigue and just keeps you turning the page once after another. If you are looking for a book to just “get away”, this is one of many I would suggest.
So that is what is currently in my stack of books to read along with about 5 magazines that piqued my interest (I usually look at magazines online but these caught my eye at the grocery store). Next time I’ll share what’s on my Kindle app!
