“Thankful November” Day 8: Our Kids!

Today I feel very lucky to have 3 humans in my life that make me a mom – our kids!

Jeff and I are a blended family. When we got married in 2005, my daughter joined his two children, a daughter and son, and we began our journey into happy family bliss. NOT! What we thought would be a piece of cake – taking three teenagers out of their comfort zones and putting them together in this new, unfamiliar place – didn’t quite turn out like we imagined. But the lessons we learned were such a blessing.

Christmas, Teenagers, Children, Kids, Family

Our first Christmas together in 2005!

Yes, we had our ups and downs. Sometimes it felt like we were more down than up. But Jeff and I learned to lean on each other and talk, to communicate with the kids and seek out other families who, before us, had blended into one.

Now, almost 14 years later, we are the parents of some amazing adults. Each is finding their own way in the world and I’m so proud of each one. We may have had some bumps in the road but that only served us to learn about each other and for all of us to become better people/family members.

So on this 8th day of “Thankful November”, what are you grateful for?

Big Hugs!

Miki
