“Thankful November” Day 7: Early Morning Walks

Some might call me crazy, but I love getting up early each morning. I’ve been this way my entire life – even when I was a young girl. At sleepovers, I was always the first to go to sleep. Back then that wasn’t such a good thing because I seemed to miss out on some fun, but now I’m happy to get up earlier than most.

On this 7th day of “Thankful November,” I’m grateful for early morning walks. This time of the year going for a stroll around dawn is really nice here in the Lowcountry of South Carolina because the temperatures are just right: mid 60’s and usually clear to partly cloudy skies. Perfect Fall weather!

City Street, King Street, Charleston South Carolina, CharlestonThis morning I was able to go downtown and walk along King Street before the stores opened for business. It was perfect! Got some exercise in the cool air, greeted the few people I saw (everyone was so nice), grabbed a treat that I don’t normally get (fingers crossed no reaction!) and enjoyed the rest of my walk, admiring the beautiful city where I live.

I feel so thankful for a few things here: 1. That I was able to get up this morning and go for a walk! There are days when my body is telling me loud and clear that it wants to just stay in bed but this morning I was raring to go – Yay! 2. The weather cooperated perfectly for my walk. No rain, nice temps. 3. Since it was early, there weren’t a lot of people and cars to navigate. Not that I mind that but it felt so peaceful this morning walking the streets so early. 4. Just getting out of my usual morning routine and doing something different. It felt so nice!

So today for “Thankful November”, what are you grateful for?

Big Hugs!

Miki
