For Day 30 of “Thankful November”, I want to write about my love and gratitude of journals.
I’ve written before about my obsession for journals or blank books that you can fill up with any kind of information you want to keep track of. Journals are a wonderful way to look back on what you have accomplished, keep track of progress toward goals, and help you remember important dates plus so much more. But one thing you should make sure to keep track of in your journal, whether it is on paper or electronically, are the things you are grateful for each day.
One of my favorite speakers, Rachel Hollis, says to write down ten things each day that you are grateful for. Ten sounds like a lot but if you think about your day, really look at all the little things that happen, you probably can come up with even more! Each day is filled with events that helped you during the day. By writing them down, you are taking time to really acknowledge the things in your life that, no mater big or small, made an impact on you.
Can you imagine if you wrote ten things each day for a month? In thirty days you would have THREE HUNDRED THINGS you are grateful for! If you think about that, it’s pretty amazing. Plus, if you do this in a paper journal, I bet you’d fill up those books faster than you could imagine. Especially if you add your thoughts of the day, and any other information you want to keep track of too.
So if you can, keep a journal. I love paper journals best but I have some friends that keep theirs on their phone so they have access to it all the time. Just do what you like best.
So what are you grateful for today?
