I know the Holiday Season has just begun but I wanted to chat a moment about a little self care during this busy month.
I know that I can get a little carried away with the season. I try to do too many things during this time of year (well, for me, it’s most of the year!) and no matter who you are, that is definitely not a good thing! There are so many things I want to go do, see, try – in other words, I put too much on my calendar.
In my free eBook I’m giving away for the holiday season, “A Folly Beach Christmas”, my character Maddy is the same way, and finds herself in a few sticky situations. As for me, I get tired and run down. Not the way I want to spend my holidays (or my birthday since I’m a December baby).
So now is the time to plan these next few weeks. Maybe not a rigid structure but leave room in your schedule for times to rest, relax and unplug. Putting yourself on the top of your Christmas list, not for buying presents (though that’s not a bad idea) but for taking care of yourself.
I’m actually writing this as a reminder to myself. After I finish this post, I’m sitting down with my calendar and putting my self care on paper. For me, this is the only way I get things down. I was even so busy today I forgot to eat lunch! And I really want to feel good, rested and relax this holiday season.
