Storms at the Beach

I know that most people only love going to the beach when the sun is high in the sky and the temps are warm but I love going anytime. And I mean anytime! It doesn’t matter where the beach is located, whether it’s in the Keys or right here in my hometown of Charleston. It doesn’t even matter about the weather!

So yes, spreading a blanket on the sand and lying back while listening to the waves is a bit difficult if it’s raining but hey – I guess you could do that if you wanted. I have seen people string hammocks under the pier when it’s raining which actually looks pretty relaxing. Now I might just try that! LOL!

As for me and Jeff, we don’t mind a few raindrops falling on us while we walk in the surf. Now if it’s a total downpour, we have been known to park where we can watch the waves and maybe lower the windows a bit. Then we can relax while we listen to the surf. To me the beach is perfect in all kinds of weather.

And yes, I’ve even been out on the beach during tropical storms. I know that isn’t the best thing to do but to see the strength and power of the ocean is really incredible. Nature is just magnificent!

If you are close to a beach – lake or ocean – visit it while the rain is falling. But I must say please do be careful. Make sure you aren’t in a thunderstorm with lightning! I’m talking about are those good soaking showers.

Have fun and sending big hugs!

Miki
