So, the big question is: How Are You Guys Doing?
I truly hope that in your part of the world that things are fine as they can be at this moment in time. With the daily changes to our lives – medically with COVID19 and, in the United States, the unrest in our nation has certainly made this an unprecedented time in history!
These first 7 months of the year have been very up and down for me. I was sick for the holidays, all the way through January and part of February. My doctors have a suspicion that I possibly had the COVID virus then but if so, the antibodies are probably long gone. I will say this: I was SICK! It was awful and they diagnosed me with severe laryngitis, severe bronchitis and possible viral meningitis. But the ER doctor told me that they couldn’t figure out what I had.
During this time, I also injured my knee pretty bad. Surgery was called for but I was too sick and we opted for gentle physical therapy. It helped a lot but I recently injured it again. Surgery isn’t the best option now due to the virus so I’m doing virtual physical therapy which is pretty cool. But once things calm down, I’m might have to have that surgery – ugh!
I could go on and on about the changes here in my life but I know that you have had your share too! Everyone has! All of our lives are different in some form or another since the beginning of this year and now we march on, embracing the changes and continue to live our best lives.
So, are you having a fun summer? It’s definitely not what I expected but we made the most of it. I began by making a list of the things I could do and I chose to focus on those. Since most of my family is being extremely careful of what they do and where they go, I’ve been able to continue seeing my parents, the kids and especially my new grandson – Garrett! He arrived February 8th and has brought such joy and happiness to our lives. My husband and I go to the beach early in the mornings before people start arriving so I can put my feet in the sand and walk among the waves. We also visit the dock on the river, take drives around the city and visit the local parks making sure to social distance. I keep in touch with other family and friends via FaceTime which is fantastic! Nice to see who you are talking to!
I’ve also been taking this time for some resting that doctors have ordered. I continue to crochet, draw, paint, make jewelry and more. I’m learning new skills such as gardening, digital art, and some other things I can’t wait to share with you.
As for writing, I have to admit it has been a challenging time for me. Being sick, welcoming my first grandchild, the anxiety that has filled our lives over the last few months and more has taken a small toll on my storytelling. But I’m now writing 2 books and excited about all the possibilities. I would like to have one novel complete and on its way to you by the end of this year but if not 2021 might be filled with more than one new novel from me! I’ll keep you updated on my progress because I have received several emails and DMs asking me about the newest book in the “Camping in High Heels” series and that is one of the books I’m working on! Kate is definitely having some more exciting adventures as she continues her trip around the United States.
I would love to know what you have been doing during this time of upheaval. How are you handling all this “stuff”? Let me know!
Take Care and Stay Safe!
PS – How do you like that pool hair??? 🙂
