Yes, I know it’s been awhile, but I heard you and they’re here: Journal Prompts! This time, though, I’m making a few changes.
First, I want to say that I’m so happy that ya’ll enjoy the prompts. I know when I’m writing in my journal, there are days when I can just write and write. Then there are others when I look at the blank page and can’t write the first word. That is the reason I decided several years ago to share ideas with you about what to write in a journal.
Then last year happened. A LOT of things fell by the wayside and journal prompts were one of those items. If you remember, I gave prompts so you would have something to write about each day of the week–7 daily prompts, but this time it’ll be different.
Now I’ll be giving you 3 prompts each week. Why? I found some prompts were pretty intense. It was something you could write about for a few days or more. Also, some questions that might have been only a one or two sentence answer would spark other thoughts to write about. So, I think 3 prompts a week will be perfect to write about all week long.
On to this week’s prompts that, to me, the feel very appropriate for the time we find ourselves in at the moment. This week it’s about “Gratitude”. We have SO MUCH to be grateful for, even though sometimes we feel like we don’t. Sometimes it takes almost all of our brain cells to find some happy nuggets from the day, but they are there. Use these prompts to help you find the gold mine of blessings you have and write about them in your favorite journal.
#1 – What made you smile today?
You could actually what about this one each day. It’s a great way to review what has happened in your world.
#2 – What or where is your “Happy Place” and why?
I love this question. Writing about your favorite place will almost always make you smile and bring back happy memories or get you excited about your next visit.
#3 – Who are you most grateful for, and why?
This is such a precious prompt. We all have those very special people in our lives and to write about them will make you appreciate them even more.
These are significant questions to ask yourself and reflect on. You could almost write about each one every day! I hope you enjoy these and we will explore more questions in future posts. We are even going to talk about different journals to write in!
