It’s Inspirational Monday and today is another great quote. Let me know if it rings home for you.
This quote is so on point! We think about the dreams, goals, something we want to try – whatever – we want to do and keep waiting for the “right time”.
Guess what? There never will be a right or perfect time. I learned this lesson when we decided to have a baby. My then husband and I wandered what would be the right time to have a child. We had been married for 2.5 years and all our friends were having children so we wondered if it was time for us. We wanted a child and I remember asking an older friend when would be the right time. How would we know? And she told me there was never a specific time to have a child. Really, she said, for most things in life, there isn’t a “right” time. She said you have to know in your heart and use your intuition to know if it’s right for you, whatever the situation.
Her words still ring true today. If I had listened to people instead of just pushing through, I wouldn’t have nine published novels and two novellas. Those books would probably still be sitting on my computer, waiting for me to decide if the timing is right. Instead, I went for it. I had the knowing feeling that these books were meant to be out in the world whether they flew or flopped. Could I have made some decisions differently? Oh yes! But those decisions weren’t really failures. They were lessons that helped me when it came time to do the next book or goal in my life.
As for my novels and other areas of my life, I quit waiting on the right time. But there are some things I still struggle with, wandering if I’m moving too fast or too slow in my decision making. When I get that feeling, I remember today’s quote and try to put it all in perspective. I hope it helps you too!
