One Of My Favorite Places To Write: The Folly Beach Pier
I have several places I like to go, take my computer or iPad and just write. And one of those places is the pier at Folly Beach.
You know already how much I love the beach but to be able to go, find a comfortable spot that overlooks the beautiful Atlantic Ocean is wonderful. As I write, I get to listen to the waves crashing on the shore, the shore birds sing their songs and when I take the time to look up from my computer, I love to people watch, especially the children who are so fascinated about the beach with it’s sand, water and shells.
The beach is my happy place and I can’t think of one beach I’ve visited that I didn’t like. It seems like they each have their own unique characteristics and Folly Beach is no exception. In South Carolina, Folly is nicknamed the “Hippy Beach”. It has a wonderful laid back vibe that is so relaxing.
During the summer months, they show hit movies on the beach not far from the pier. My husband I usually go early to watch the sunset and sometimes I’ll take my iPad to write. I just find the beach so soothing and a wonderful place to put my thoughts in writing.
If you like to write, do you have a special place you like to go? Even if you don’t write, what about reading, doing yoga, exercising, etc.? I guess I should ask you: what’s your happy place?
