Nature’s Sunday Night Picture Show

Each day, for the last few months, I’ve been making a point to get out in nature. In my case the goal has been to go to the beach or go down to the river each day. No matter what the weather.

Usually on Sundays, we go to the beach really early for a walk and breakfast we usually bring with us. I love the beach at this time of day because it is still quiet though there may be people milling about. But today, we had a few things to do before making good on a promise to finally go see the new “Jurassic Park” movie. So when it came time for my “nature fix”, my husband and I opted for time to sit out on the dock over the river at sunset.

The sky was very cloudy which made for nice temperatures at the dock. A cool breeze kept the bugs from bothering us. But what was amazing was the sunset.

Now we have seen some spectacular sunsets from the dock. But tonight I didn’t expect to see much of anything with the amount of cloud cover we had. But as the sunset, the bright rays shone back on the belly of the clouds above and the colors that shone were stunning. The picture I have here really doesn’t do it justice.

I have to say the sight mesmerized me. I’d had a busy weekend and to see nature’s picture show tonight was amazing. It’s times like this that I feel so blessed to live close to the ocean and beach but that I can walk to the beautiful Ashley River, especially in the evening to witness the sunsets. But it’s not only the sunsets but to listen to the birds, crickets and more as nature settles in for the night.

I hope that you have had a wonderful weekend, even if it was busy like mine.

Happy Sunday!
