I’m very blessed to have a room of my very own in our house. A place where I can go to create. I call it my writer/artist nook.
I love this room! It has the perfect little space for me to write: a twin bed I turned into a daybed. There are also desks lined against the walls with supplies for crafts, and my easel for painting. I have shelves for yarn and books. In the closet there are drawers and shelves filled with even more creative supplies.
EXCEPT right now there is a big problem: the room is a mess! I’m talking totally disorganized. I mentioned not too long ago that it needed a bit of TLC because the room became a catchall for everything during the holidays. But I haven’t taken the time to get in there and make it all pretty and welcoming again. But now I have too for a good reason.
I have some special friends coming to visit next week and I will be using the room as their sleeping headquarters while they are here. So I guess I should be glad they are coming because it is forcing me to fix up my little place instead of making excuses to wait till tomorrow or next week or the next month!
Do you find yourself putting things off that you could easily get down if you started? Does the task seem so big it’s hard to tackle it? That’s how I feel about this room even though I love it. It just got out of hand for a while but I’m ready to have my room back.
So I’ll be working on my creativity room this weekend but this has me thinking of other projects I keep putting off that I want/need to get done. Now I’m making a list of those tasks and putting them in order of priority. As soon as my room is done I’m going straight to the next project to keep the momentum going.
If you find yourself in a similar predicament, just know you have me for company! Make your list and work with me.
