With so many changes going on this week, my “Summer Camp” was a bit different – not your usual camp activity. A few things I planned got put on the back burner because of bad thunderstorms, doctor’s appointments and more.
So I know most people wouldn’t consider this “Summer Camp” fun but in between running here and there I’ve continued making the shift in my home from “Decluttering” to “Minimalism”.
As I’ve written before, I have decluttered a lot over the last few years but now I’m embracing a minimalistic lifestyle. The one thing I’m doing (which is unusual for me) is not rushing through this process. By going slow it’s been fun and satisfying. I’m actually holding things in my hand, gauging how I feel about them and then making decisions. This week alone I took 4 boxes of items to Goodwill and Habitat for Humanity came by for a pick up today.
These are all things, mostly, that I would have kept tucked away in the attic or storage space for that “someday”. When I look back at what I gave away just this week, I’m amazed because the items were in great shape, a few even brand new but I’d never used them. It was time to let them go to a new home.
So as weird as that might sound, “Summer Camp” for me was about giving things away. And I loved every minute!
Hope you have a fantastic weekend! And don’t forget – the “2019 Beach Book Giveaway” will be here in a couple of days!
