If you’ve been following along, you know by now I’ve been in putting together my dream planner. I wrote last week about this and how it should be done by today. But it’s not. There are SO MANY things/planners to choose and I had it narrowed to two: Erin Condren and The Happy Planner.
The main reason for these two choices was the decorative aspect of planning. I like color! I like stickers! Washi Tape! Highlighters! Markers! Though I know you can do this in other planners, these two brands had that creative flare I loved while I being able to add the necessary papers I could use to keep me on track as I move closer to my goals and dreams.
But here is my problem: I Love Them Both! Each brand has something I like. I was determined that by today I would show you a finished, well put together planner. From there, I would share my weekly spreads, habit tracker, social media planner and much more. But now I’m combining two planners and using some ideas from others like the Passion Planner.
You might think I’m taking this a bit too far but I believe that for something to work for you in life you have to like it. Now this doesn’t apply to everything like taking a medicine that makes you feel ill but will help you get better but I’m sure you know what I’m talking about. In the planner world I’ve learned a new word: Frankenplanning. This is when you take pieces from the planners you like and build your own. So I guess that’s what I’m doing.
One thing that changed the game for me this week is that I received the new loose leaf Erin Condren Planner. It’s beautiful and I love it but there are pages from other planners I want to use. Sigh!
So I’m still at work trying to put everything together. New goal: TO HAVE A PLANNER TO SHOW TO YOU NEXT WEEK! I really want to share with you how I plan, organize and stay on top of things while exercising my creative side. It’s really fun and a great way to break the stress and tension of the day when you need a break.
Anyone else out there using these planners or a combination of planners? I’m going to watch some (or a lot) of YouTube videos on the subject this weekend. I’ll let you know what I come up with.
In the meantime, have a wonderful weekend. Take time for some fun and self-care!
PS – And did I tell you I’m doing this while finishing my first non-fiction book due out late next month? “Me” – Your Story Through Journaling” is coming soon!
