Nothing Like A Good Book For A Great Escape

I hope you’re as excited about the Beach Book Giveaway as I am! The authors of these fabulous books are super and today I want to introduce you to Mary Alice Monroe.

This New York Times Best Selling Author lives here in the Lowcountry of South Carolina. She has written over twenty novels! Mary Alice is an active conservationist and this shows up in her wonderfully written novels. Her book – “The Beach House” – was recently made into a Hallmark Hall Of Fame Movie. Mary Alice’s novels have appeared on the New York Times and USA Today Best Selling Lists. And most recently, she was a 2018 inductee into the Literary Hall of Fame for the South Carolina Academy of Authors.

Best Selling Author, Miki Bennett, Mary Alice Monroe, Sea Turtles, Beach House, Novel, Book, Reading,I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and talking to Mary Alice on several occasions and she is quite a remarkable woman. She is very gracious with her time and she makes each person feel as though they are the only one in the room. If you ever get a chance to meet her at a book signing or event, please make sure to go. You won’t be disappointed. You can read more about her at www.maryalicemonroe.com.

Two of her books – “The Beach House” and “Beach House Reunion” are part of the End Of Summer Beach Book Giveaway. Make sure to enter!

Big Hugs Everyone!

Miki

PS – The turtle mural you see in the heading above was actually painted by Mary Alice’s daughter, Greta, on a wall to a public restroom that lines a walkway to the Isle of Palms Beach. Greta’s work is stunning and I can honestly say that the picture does not do the mural justice. I guess you’ll have to come see it for yourself!

  1. I have to say that so many female authors these days seem to live in the south. What is it about the south and females that compels them, it seems, to write?

    1. Vicki, that’s a good question. I know for me, my doctor’s wanted me to write about my rare illness and being a caregiver to my daughter that has nine birth defects. It was suppose to be a non-fiction book but I made it into fiction. I didn’t really start out to be an author but I found I loved writing. A lot of authors set their books here in the Lowcountry of South Carolina so I decided my first book series would be in the Florida Keys since I absolutely love it there! But one of the authors in my giveaway – Nancy Thayer – actually lives in Nantucket. 🙂
