Ok everyone – I love making lists! I have since I was a little girl. I have them in my notebook and my iPad. If I didn’t have them, I’d be lost!
I know this is “Journal Prompt” day, but I decided to talk about lists because the last few weeks have had some pretty heavy-duty questions. This week let’s do something fun and different – list making!
My obsession with lists started when I was a little girl. I was a sucker for a blank notebook that I would take and fill it up with all kinds of stuff, including my lists. As I got older, making a morning to-do list was the only way I got anything done during the day. Now I’ll admit that even with my list of to-do’s, I sometimes miss my goal of getting things done, but at least having them written helps. But there are so many other lists to make besides the things you need to get done. So, here are 5 ideas of list to make this week. Maybe make a sheet for each one and add to the lists all week long as you think of something.
#1 I’m grateful for…
I LOVE this list! I actually write a list every morning in my journal. Gratitude lists really help you focus on the good and can help when you are in a really stressful situation or time in your life. I highly recommend this one!
#2 Books I have read are…
Keeping a list of books you have read is great for several reasons. First, you see how many you were able to read. My goal each year is to read 100. But you can also give them a rating of 1-5 so you know which ones to recommend to others.
#3 Craft ideas I’d like to try are…
Ok, you know I love crafts and DIY projects so this is a pretty long list for me. I even have a Pinterest board with all the craft projects I’d like to try. There is so much out there to choose from, so keeping a list helps remind of the ones that were most appealing to me.
#4 Places I’d like to visit are…
This is always a good list to keep and update regularly. It can help you plan future outings or vacations when you might be stuck for ideas of places to go. I keep a list of local places for day trips and then details of far-off places with the things to do there.
#5 Movies I’d like to watch are…
Again, this is a list I love. There will be times when I need a break and want to watch a movie but forgot ones that interested me when I saw the trailers. Having a list handy reminds me of the ones I thought would be good. I also keep a list of TV shows that people have told me about that sound like something I’d like to watch.
These 5 suggestions for lists are only a few suggestions of the lists you can make. Let me know if there are some lists that you make that are special to you!
Here’s to all the list makers out there!
