Let Me Introduce You To “Kate Palmer”!

I thought it might be a bit of fun to “interview” the characters from my novels! Just a little twist to learn some “behind the scenes” info on them.  Today I’m going to “talk” to Kate Palmer, our heroine from “Camping in High Heels”.Camping in High Heels, Camping, Rv, Motor Homes, Travel Trailers, Books, Novels,

Me: Hi Kate! I’m so glad that you could carve out a bit of time for me for a chat. I know you’re on your way to Niagara Falls.

Kate: No problem! Actually, I just stopped for the evening and set up the motor home at the campground so this is good timing.

Me: Are you truly enjoying your camping experience or are you ready to go back to staying in 5 Star hotels?

Kate: Honestly, I love staying in “Luna”, my nickname for the motor home. Much better than what I originally called my camper when I first started my trip.

Me: Didn’t you use the name “Monster”?

Kate (laughing):  I sure did! I swear that’s what it felt like to me! Driving those first weeks was such a challenge. I still have my moments but things are so much better now. As for staying in hotels, I’ll admit that I miss them. I mean, spa treatments and fine dining – seriously? But there is something to be said for grilling food at your campsite too. Taking a walk in the fresh air. Watching the wildlife as long as it doesn’t get too close.

Me: You know there are many people who say you are “glamping”. That you aren’t a true camper since you aren’t staying in a tent or even better, outside under the stars.

Kate: Well, as far as I’m concerned this is camping. And I have stayed in a tent a few times!

Me: That’s right. Brandon has a tent doesn’t he?

Kate: Um, let’s change the subject!

Me: Ok, so what is your favorite place you visited so far on your trip?

Kate: That’s hard! I’ve seen so many things. Been to places that I had only heard of and honestly didn’t think I would ever visit. I was so focused on international travel. But now that I’ve camped around half the United States, there is so much to see in our own backyard. I could probably live in this camper for years and never see everything I want.

Me: But name just one favorite place.

Kate: Hmmmm. Well, this is going to sound crazy but probably Forks, WA.

Me: Seriously?

Kate: Well, I know I have been to some awesome places and seen sights that seemed like I was looking at a postcard but Forks is a bit special. First I’m a big “Twilight” fan. Please don’t laugh! So I had to visit Forks but it’s also the place that really solidified my relationship with Brandon. It was so sweet what he did for me.

Me: You mean him meeting you at the beach?

Kate: Yeah. It was so romantic but I don’t want to give too much away if your readers haven’t read the books yet but I still can’t get that evening out of my mind.

Me: You’re probably right. Will just leave it right there but I will be getting back in touch with you for another interview if that’s alright with you, ok?

Kate: I would love that!

Me: Have fun on your adventure!

Kate: Will do!

This gives you just the tiniest glimpse of Kate Palmer from the “Camping in High Heels” series. She might be a bit pampered but she is learning to make her way in the RV and camping world, one adventure at a time.

Hope you enjoyed our “interview”!

XOXO,

Miki
