Love to watch “The Voice”!
Last night was the premier of season 15 of “The Voice”. I adore this show! Not just for the incredible singers that are showcased or the banter between the judges but for something else entirely.
If you watch this show, you might have an inkling of what I’m about to say. The main reason I love this show is that a person is judged on their ability and talent. The judges don’t know what they look like, their personality (introvert or extrovert), the color of their skin, their political beliefs, straight or gay – I could go on and on. They are only judging the person on their ability to sing. If they have an unwavering voice. If it sounds raspy or smooth. If they can reach a high note or the lowest of low.
I like seeing the faces of the judges when they turn around and are shocked by the person they see in front of them. I’ve seen them surprised by a woman in her 50’s that never got a shot at her singing dreams to a 13 year old girl that sang like she was a seasoned pro.
What if we could all apply this principle in our everyday life. If we could look at each other and know that we, even though we are all different and we aren’t going to share the same opinions, we can be civil – even kind, friendly and caring. Wow – what a different world this would be.
Big Hugs Everyone!
