Like I told you yesterday, I’m not into football that much so you are probably wondering why I would write a blog post about the Super Bowl. Easy answer: it’s the one football game I do watch each year.
There are several reasons I enjoy watching the Super Bowl. First of all, there is the food. This is one time I give myself a small bit of grace to try a new food here or there, still being careful. I have to say when I see all the appetizer and snack recipes available for the Super Bowl parties I’m sure are going on today, I wish I could eat with abandon but at least I can have a few treats.
Next, I like to watch the game for the commercials. Watching the new ads is so much fun! It seems like the last few years haven’t produced as many funny ones that I like but it is still fun to see what the advertisers will come up with to showcase their product.
Then, there is the halftime show. Even if I’m not a big fan of the performer/s, I like to see what they create for an entertaining twenty minutes. Some shows in the past have amazed me that they could fit in so much into a small amount of time. Plus the stages they set up and down so quickly – I don’t know how they do it! I’m hoping this year will be good but I have to say one of my all time favorite halftime shows was Lady Gaga a few years back.
Last, I love rooting for the underdog. That team that everyone says won’t win the big game. This year, it is the Los Angeles Rams. Though I may not watch football, I understand the game. The Super Bowl is the one time I’ll sit in my home and cheer for the underdog team. In the past when the underdog has won, I feel like I’ve been one of their biggest fans forever because it’s great to see the little guy win big!
If you are watching the game today, I hope you have a great time. If not, I still hope you are having a wonderful Sunday and a terrific weekend!
Big Hugs!
