I love Journal Prompt Day – so many questions and ideas to explore and writing it all in your journal is a plus. But you don’t only have to write. You can draw, take pictures and more! But first an update on my “Summer Camp” fun for week two: Crafts.
Like I said last week, I LOVE crafts and art! If I start looking on Pinterest for too long, I’ll have a very large list of things to try or something new for my current hobbies like crochet and alcohol ink painting. Most people get stuck on Facebook or Instagram. My problem is Pinterest but I love it!
So last week my goal was to explore a few crafts that I used to do but hadn’t tried in a while. Though I wanted to try three new activities, I ended only trying one: Macramé.
I learned the art of Macramé when I was in high school. As soon as I got the hang of the knots, I was making hanging planters, wall hangings, bracelets and more. But as the years went by and life got busier, Macramé fell by the wayside because I needed a craft that were more portable – items I could tote around such as crochet. But after this past week, I’m hooked again!
I actually set up a little Macramé station in my art/writer nook. For now, it’s a place on my wall where I can easily make wall hangings. That is what I started on this week and I can’t wait to finish as I weave in seashells and starfish on it. Next I’ll be making a hanging plant hanger for my bedroom.
So if you’re in your own little “Summer Camp”, did you try anything new last week? My activity this week is to go to a few Farmer’s Markets for fresh, organic, local produce. This will depend on our weather because we’ve been experiencing some much needed rain. If I’m not able to do that, I’ll have to come up with a back-up idea and I’ll let you know what I did next week.
Now on to the Journal Prompts! I hope you are enjoying these questions as much I love sharing them with you. And soon I’ll be making some videos of different ways to journal plus hosting a live session on Facebook and Instagram. Stay Tuned!
Prompts for this week are all about Gratitude Journaling.
1.What was the highlight of your day?
2. Who are you most grateful for and why?
3. What do you love most about your significant other?
4. What is a luxury you are thankful for?
5. What do you love about your parents?
6. What is your favorite quote and why?
7. What do you love about your friends?
There are sooooo many more journal prompts about gratitude but I’ll share more in the future. I hope these questions help you to stop and see the blessings in life whether things are great or you’re going through a challenging time.
