So it’s day two of “Thankful November”. I know I said yesterday that I wanted to concentrate of the little things but today I have to say I’m thankful for my family.
I feel very blessed to come from a very large family. Now as for my immediate family growing up it was just me, my mom and dad. But my dad is the eldest of 12 children and my mom is one of 13 children! Now you might understand why they decided to have just one child. LOL!
So with all my aunts and uncles, I have 47 first cousins! Yep, you read that right. But I love it. When we get together for family reunions, either side of the family, we always have a great time. Plus, you can imagine these events are pretty large. We average 100+ people!
I’m blessed to be part of such a big family. We cheer each other on, help when times call for it and share our lives with one another. Of course there are moments when we don’t see eye to eye but thank goodness those times are rare and we take the time to talk things out. What family doesn’t have times of strife amongst the good? The key is focusing on the good times, letting the negative float away.
I know when my daughter was born with her birth defects, my family was right there to support and help in any way they could. When I went through cancer, the same thing. And now with my illness, they understand. They have celebrated with me in the good times too like when I found the man of my dreams and published my first book. Their support means so much to me and I’m one lucky girl.
So for day two of “Thankful November”, what are you grateful for?
