I’m so excited! As of today, with this blog post, I have written 200 posts in a row! Whoa!
I don’t tell you this to toot my own horn, but I have to say I’m pretty darn happy that I’ve been consistent. My goal when I started on March 31st of this year was to write 30 blog posts for 30 days in a row. Once I hit that goal, I decided – what the heck – I’ll go for another 30 days. As I would reach each 30-day mark, I felt that I could continue. Then when I realized I was near the 180-day post, I thought “Ok, that’s enough. I proved to myself that I can be consistent and hit my goal. Six months of straight blogging was awesome.” But, as you can see, I didn’t stop there.
I’ve love blogging every day. I love sharing my day, my thoughts, inspirational posts, books I’m reading, crafts I’m trying, new recipes, the books I’m writing and so much more. My website/blog has been deemed an “author site,” but I beg to differ. To me, it’s about a girl living life on the coast who happens to be an author. A website that shares info about things that I find mighty interesting and think you might find them nifty yourself.
Now that I have blogging down, I might skip a few days here and there. But I don’t want to, and now I’ve been encouraged to “vlog” – find my inner video personality and share personal videos instead of writing. Will see how that goes because I’ll have to learn editing techniques which sounds like fun but I’ve got books to write y’all!
THE MAIN REASON I SHARE THIS WITH YOU IS THIS: If you have a dream or goal, I don’t care how big or small, take those baby steps and go for it. I started small. I just wanted to blog for 30 days straight. Some of my posts were long, some short. But I did it and stretched it even further than I imagined. I’ve used this baby step technique with other items I have accomplished in the past. Now I’m using these steps again as I pursue new goals. Achieving this blogging goal has helped encourage me to keep on keeping on reaching for those other goals and dreams I have for myself, my family and what I want to share with the world.
So make a choice – a confident decision. Choose to step out and take those baby steps toward what you want in life. Will it be easy? Maybe or maybe not. Will it be worth it to see that dream come to fruition? You bet!
