I’m so stinkin’ excited! As of today I have been blogging for 1 year! I know that may not sound like much but I have written a blog EVERY SINGLE DAY since March 31, 2018!
This idea began last year after I had just finished and published “A Wedding in the Keys”. I wanted to try something different in the world of writing. I had blogged off and on for years, trying a little bit of this and that but nothing ever really held my attention. But then I decided that I would write a blog on this site every day for 30 days. I wasn’t sure what my topics would be except maybe write about my books and my love for the beach but other than that, I would have to find something to write about.
Well, after 30 days passed by and I found out how much I enjoyed it, I challenged myself to 60 days. When that benchmark passed I shot for 120 days. I guess you can figure out the rest. After blogging for 4 months I decided to shoot for 365 days of blogging – A WHOLE YEAR! I had no idea what I would write about, but I decided to worry about that problem later.
And I have had a blast! There were days where I knew what I would write about before I opened my laptop. Other times, I struggled to come up with a topic and would resort to lists I had. Usually looking at some ideas I already had would spark a topic and I would be off writing.
As time went on, I finally got into a small routine of blogging about certain subjects on certain days. That is still in the refinement stage and I love watching it come together.
Since I’ve now reached this milestone, I’m not sure if I will continue to blog every day. I plan to keep blogging for sure but I have set up another challenge for everyone and myself and it begins today: Journal Sparks!
Journal Sparks are journaling prompts to help others learn to journal and give seasoned journalers new ideas. I’ll be posting another blog post later today about the “Journal Spark Project” – make sure to watch for it!
I just had to celebrate this milestone with you! Thanks for reading and sharing my blog over the many platforms. As I’ve said before I truly believe I have the best readers/fans/friends in the world!
