Meditation Is A Wonderful Way To Relax
So do you meditate? Sometimes? Every day? Not at all? It seems lately like meditation is a popular buzz word and I thought I would get some input from my readers.
As for me, I’ve have practiced meditation for quite a while now. But probably not the meditation you are thinking about. Most of the time when you see or hear the word “meditate” you imagine someone sitting cross-legged with their hands on their knees, thumb and middle fingers touching. They are sitting supper straight and eyes closed. Well, at least that is what I see in my mind. But to me meditation is so much more than this.
What I described above is a perfect form of meditation for a lot of people. I have done it before and found wonderful, calming results. But now, as I learn more about this stress relieve technique, it is so much more than sitting in silence.
One of my favorite ways to meditate is to put on soothing music (or in complete silence) and crochet. As I make each stitch, I find myself moving into a more relaxed state. Something else I love to do is doodle or draw. Making abstract figures, following the movement of the pen on paper (or on my iPad drawing app) will bring the desired effect of relaxation and calmness throughout my body.
Hear are some other ways to meditate that I have researched and heard about from other people: exercise such as walking, running or cycling; painting; photography; gardening; cooking; visualization; prayer; singing. This list could go on but I think you understand. Mediation can be anything where you are doing a repetitive action something that helps you to focus on just one thing. This helps slow your mind, your breathing and bring about that relaxed, calm state I wrote about earlier.
So I ask again: do you meditate? You probably do but just didn’t know it!
Happy Relaxed Vibes Everyone!
