When you’re working on a project or task and need to keep going, sometimes you need something to give you that inspiration to keep going. I know when I’m writing and feel out of sorts with my story, I find that music brings me that spark I need!
Ever since I was a little girl, music has been a big part of my life. First, I had record players with my vinyl LPs and 45s. I know wore out many players over the years. Then when CDs came along, I had shelf after shelf of music. I was always making cassettes or CDs of my favorite music, making sure a Walkman was with me all the time.
When the iPod became available I was overjoyed. So much music in one spot was hard to imagine, but I filled mine up super fast. Thank goodness my iPhone X has 256GB because it’s filled with mostly music and photos (I take pics of so many thing – another source of inspiration for me!).
I have different music playlists depending on my mood or what I’m working on. I even have songs that are categorized for each of my book series. When I find I’m stuck in my writing, I play a few songs from the list and usually I’m able to get right back on track. I play music when I’m painting, drawing, crocheting, cooking – well, just about everything. I have to say the music has always been such a big part of my life and still is.
When you need of inspiration, what do you turn to? Books? Quotes? Songs? People? There are many things that can help us move through those times when we need that extra push.
