Have You Ever Made A “Reverse Bucket List”?
Make A List Of Your Wins!
You are probably looking at the title of this blog and saying “WHAT?” Yes, it is called a “Reverse Bucket List”.
Of course we’ve all heard of making a Bucket List except I call mine an “Intention List” because it is a list things I intend to do. A “Reverse List” is making a list of all the experiences you’ve already done in your life. Places you’ve been, events you’ve experienced, things you’ve tried. We have a tendency to forgot about the things we’ve already done, always looking to the next big thing in the future instead of savoring the fact that we have probably done quite a few things that other people would love to have a chance to experience.
Here are a few things I’ve done:
-I won a free trip to California, all expenses paid, when I was just 10 years old by collecting grocery receipts. I was so determined to win this trip that I would stand outside the grocery store and ask for everyone’s receipt as they were heading to their cars.
-I also won a free all expenses paid trip to Disney World for 8 days win I was enjoying my sweepstakes hobby back in the 90’s. It was an awesome trip!
-I’ve been around the country, camping in a motor home, at least 4 times, seeing sites, visiting National Parks and having so many wonderful adventures that it would take up to much space here to write about.
-When my parents owned the RV dealership, we were the go to dealership for the film industry when they would come to the Lowcountry of South Carolina to make TV shows or movies. I’ve been blessed to meet many celebrities and even got to spend time on several movie sets.
-I got to celebrate my 16thbirthday on a cruise ship!
-I’ve watched a beautiful sunrise sitting on the Seven Mile Bridge in the Florida Keys
-Experiencing the beauty of going 900 feet underground at Carlsbad Caverns
-Petting a dolphin in the wild
-Seeing a shark up close in the wild
-Watching my daughter, who doctors didn’t think would walk, win a National Tap Dance competition after having spinal surgery
-Sneaking into the rehearsal of a Backstreet Boys concert and almost got to meet them until the security guard showed up.
-I got to witness two incredible Space Shuttle launches as night! Almost hard to do describe!
And these are just the beginning of my list. The more I thought about this “reverse list” the more fun times came to mind. Sometimes we have to remind ourselves of what we’ve already accomplished while we push forward to our next big goal or dream. Just don’t forget that you’ve already had some amazing adventures and build on those.
