Geek Versus Paper & Pen
I know – weird title, huh? It’s just a little something I’m struggling with so I thought I would bring it to you and see what you think.
I LOVE tech gadgets! Just ask my family – the newest thing comes out, especially if it’s an Apple product, and
I’m chomping at the bit to run out and get the sucker. So needless to say, I have just a “few” gadgets around that officially give me the title of the “Resident Family Geek”. And I don’t mind! If someone ask me a question about computers, tablets, phone and such, if I can help, I’m there. Have even been sitting at the Genius Bar at the local Apple store, helped a girl with her computer problem and she was able to leave just as the Genius Guy came up to her. So then the manager promptly asked if I wanted a job! This has actually happened twice now! 🙂
This is my dilemma: I love my computer, my iPad Pro and my iPhone. I’m determined to go paperless as much as possible. So I have the apps to help me with this grand scheme. But here’s the thing – I love a good ole notebook and my colored pens. I thought
once I got the smaller iPad Pro with the Apple Pencil, it would soothe that line between being able to write on the “paper” of the iPad. But no. Don’t get me wrong – I use the iPad and works awesome but there is just something about have a notebook full of empty paper to fill with whatever you want: notes, lists, cut out magazine clippings, drawings, doodles and so much more. Do you know what I mean?
I guess for now, I’ll be using both. I love the convenience of the iPad at my fingertips, giving me information I need, being able to write anywhere (including the beach!) and sketch/draw which I’m having a blast learning to do. But my notebook with all my crazy lists, drawings, bits & pieces of paper – whatever – will still be with me. At least for now.
So here is the question: Are you a techie and have gone completely paperless or do you still hang on to the good ole paper and pen?
Big Hugs To All!
