Do You Use A Planner To Stay Organized?
This has been a real dilemma for me for the last couple of months: trying to decide on a planner that suits my needs the best.
For years I always used a paper planner. It was a loose leaf and every year I would get my refills to keep track of my year. I even still have some of my planner/journal pages from the 90s! After my parent’s retired and sold their business and I was on my own, you would think my planner would have been more beneficial to keep me on track but for some reason, I didn’t use it as much. This was also the time that keeping your calendar/planner on your computer and smartphones was becoming popular. Being the tech geek I am, I chose to go that route but even after all this time, I’m not staying organized like I use to.
I’ve tried a couple of the new planners – both paper and digital – but nothing seems to feel right. I even tried to go back to the planner I used before but it seems so small for everything I’m trying to keep track of. Then when I go with something bigger, it’s a bit much to take with me everywhere. I know it sounds silly but I really need to get a hold of this situation to help me get more organized. I’ve missed a couple of appointments lately because I didn’t write them down or put them on my digital calendar. Sounds so simple but I’m looking for something different. The problem is that I’m not sure exactly what it is just yet. Maybe this is the cue to make my own planner and if it works for a creative like me, it might be something to share with the world. I’ll have to wait and see.
In the meantime, if you have any suggestions for planners that are roomy and fun (I like to keep mine playful and colorful), I would love to hear them. And when I finally settle on my system, I’ll be sure to let you know.
