I’ve been reading through some posts and listening to podcasts and have come upon some very interesting questions of late. Ones that have made me pause and think. So here is one I saw today: Do you have a morning ritual or routine?
This was so easy for me to answer: Yes! I’ve had one for years and it helps me TREMENDOUSLY – a great way to get my day started in the right direction. Though I do quite a few things during my morning routine, the first one is really the most important: I make my bed.
Though this may sound so simple, it is really important. Making up the bed does several things. First, it makes your room look nice, even though you may have clothes and other things lying around. But it also gives you a sense of accomplishment to start your day. That one act of having completed something, though it is relatively minor, has a huge effect on your attitude and rest of your day.
Here is the rest of my routine after making my bed:
*I have a book I read from each morning.
*I read my goals and affirmations.
*I do my stretches and get dressed.
*Take care of Emma, my little furbaby.
*Fix my food for the day since I have a limited menu. This allows me to just reheat my food when its mealtime.
*Any household chores designated for that day.
After this, I now have time to work on my writing, marketing, creating, or, depending on how I’m feeling, some self-care. My morning routine is simple, but each part helps me start my day on the right path. It sets the tone for a productive and hopefully, relaxing day.
