This “Book of the Week” recommendation is really fun! I’m able to give you suggestions for books that I like in hopes you do too! This week I want to introduce you to “Whiskey in a Teacup” by Reese Witherspoon.
This book was a bit of comfort food for the soul, Southern style that is. Reese’s stories of her childhood, her grandmother, her Southern recipes – all of it brought back some memories for me growing up here in Charleston. She even mentions Charleston as one of her favorite southern cities.
Now for me I would probably alter her recipes just a smidge (trying to be more healthy here) but each one sounds delicious. Her beauty and décor tips were cute and I could see myself actually doing a few them right now. I loved how she weaved family into her storytelling. Sometimes we just see the movie star and forget that she is a real person with a real family that includes all the memories, good and bad. But Reese puts a positive spin on everything.
It was a wonderful little read and I highly recommend it. If you are from the South, you will probably see a bit of yourself in the book. But no matter where you live, Reese’s book will take you on a journey of family memories, recipes, beauty tips, manners and more.
Enjoy!
Big Hugs!
