I have another great book to recommend this week – at least I think it’s awesome! It is The Magnolia Story by Chip and Joanna Gaines. For me, this book was inspiring in so many ways.
First of all, I loved watching the show “Fixer Upper”. Jeff still watches it to this day and we get all kinds of ideas for our home from watching Chip and Joanna do their thing as they fix up houses. But this book is all about their story before the success.
Talk about two people who are hard workers! Wow! They were (and still are) very focused on what they wanted to achieve and have in their lives: from their businesses to their family values. They tell stories of kindness, generosity, taking risks, enduring failures and still believing in their dreams. Among the telling of their story, they sprinkle in the ideas that love, joy and laughter helped them to weather the storms and celebrate their victories.
I love autobiographies and learning from others’ journeys. Chip and Joanna didn’t have the easy road to success as I think so many people believe they did. Yes, we see their TV shows, books, magazines, social media feeds and more, leaving us to think they have it made. I’m sure things are easier for them now but they have fought their way to the success they have and still continue to share with all. As you can probably tell, I love their story and have found many hidden gems of wisdom tucked away inside this book.
Please put The Magnolia Story on your reading list! I thoroughly believe you will enjoy it too and when you read it (or if you already have) please let me know what you think!
