Book Of The Week: “Confessions of a Shopaholic” by Sophie Kinsella
Over the last couple months, I’ve been sharing books I’ve enjoyed reading. I’ve tried to alternate between fiction and non-fiction but probably, from this point on, you’ll see more fiction. I’m really enjoying some good novels right now – even re-reading some from the past. And today’s book is just that. I read this book a while back but still love it! It is “Confessions of a Shopaholic” by Sophie Kinsella.
I absolutely loved this book! First of all I love to shop – ha-ha! That might be why I liked it! But I really enjoy Sophie’s writing telling style. Her neatly crafted story of a supposedly financial journalist who can’t seem to manage her own money and how she moves from one hilarious stunt to another as she tries get rid of her money woes is hilarious. Plus, she does this while trying to meet and impress a man she is very interesting in. But for her, when all else fails, she goes shopping!
This was one book that kept my attention from page one till the last. Sophie crafted a funny but lovable character in “Becky Bloomwood” and I’m happy to see that Sophie continued Becky’s story with more novels in the series: Shopaholic to the Rescue, Shopaholic Take Manhattan, Mini Shopaholic, Shopaholic to the Stars, Shopaholic and Sister, Shopaholic and Baby, and Shopaholic Ties the Knot. They are all great reads!
I hope you enjoy the “Shopaholic” books by Sophie Kinsella as much as I have!
