With the New Year still “new”, we’re still basking in the glow of that “new year” feeling. That we are starting a new beginning and everything is fresh. But with this feeling comes change, and that’s when things can get complicated.
I’ve written before about how I don’t like New Year resolutions. They are too easy to break. I like the word intention because it is more powerful, and it indicates a long-term goal – something that will become a habit and a permanent, positive change in your life.
When making goals and intentions, change is inevitable. You have to make changes to achieve whatever you are going after – whether it’s losing weight or go on your dream vacation where you have to save money or whatever. To make any goal come to fruition, change is par for the course.
That is why I love this quote: “Don’t make change complicated. Just begin.” This is so true. After making a goal or resolution, sometimes we can get paralyzed by what to do next. This is where you just begin. You take that baby step that will move you forward I the new direction you want to go.
So just begin and soon you will see those changes that seemed so stressful become a part of your life and seem routine. And you’ll also see those dreams of yours come into being.
