I got such a nice little surprise today from my husband. It might not seem like a big deal but for me it was: a 1:64 diecast 1972 Condor II Motor Home. It’s super adorable!
Ever since I started writing the “Camping in High Heels” series, my family has found several items that inspire my writing. Of course I have my own camping stories since I was in the RV Industry for over 35 years but these little trinkets are too cute. And when I’m writing the series, I keep them around me for inspiration.
So today my husband presented me with a motor home he found and I just love it. Granted, this isn’t the same type of motor home that Kate, my character, drives in the “Camping in High Heels” series but just seeing the motor home brings back memories and that fuels the creative writing process for me. I also have a ceramic figurine my dad found for me that is a station wagon and a vintage travel trailer that hook together that I have sitting on my counter. It has inspired a new character for my upcoming book: “Camping in High Heels: Yellowstone”. I can’t wait for you to meet her!
Sometimes little things like these will help bring out your creativity. Is there anything you keep close by that inspires you?
Happy Thursday!
Miki
