Ahhh – Spring Break! That time of year that brings excitement to children’s eyes but leaves parent’s wondering what to do. Well, here are a few suggestions about things to do during this time of year.
Of course there are always the big trips: cruises, Disney World and such. But sometimes spring breaks are spent in our own towns. And that’s the things I’m suggesting here. Even though I just got back from a book tour, it was work and now a break sounds good to me. So when I pull myself away from my current projects, here are a few things I like to do.
*Go on a picnic. Love this idea because you can have an outside or inside picnic. Food, a blanket and maybe some tunes.
*Go see a new movie. This is especially good if you live in a hot climate and it is already getting warm outside.
*Go for a family walk or bike ride. Just remember to stay safe!
*Have a family board game night. These games are making a comeback and I love them!
*What about a slumber party for the kiddos? This is a great time for sleepovers with no early wake-ups!
*Bake a sweet treat. Yes, most of the time we reserve our baking times around the holidays but this is a great time to try something new.
*If it’s warm enough, find a local pool to enjoy a swim. Or if you live near the ocean or a lake, take a dip in the water.
*Take a local craft class, something the whole family could enjoy.
These are just a very few suggestions for a fun family spring break. If you and your family are doing something cool, I would love to hear from you. You just might spark an idea for someone else.
Enjoy!
Miki
