A Little About Me

So glad to have you join me here! I'm Miki Bennett and I'm the author of three women's fiction series: The Florida Keys Novels, Camping in High Heels and the Nauterians. My love affair with the beach and my lifelong experiences with camping were inspiration for my novels, where I like to bring relatable characters, real life adventures and a touch of humor to my readers. I also love to create art inspired by the novels and share my creations with the world.

Each year during the month of November I have usua

Each year during the month of November I have usually posted something I’m grateful for each day of the month. This year has been different. I started out with good intentions to keep my yearly tradition but life just got in the way. A trip to Florida, lots a family here for the holidays, appointments and projects, etc.

So today I’m writing one big post to list the things I didn’t get a chance to share over the last few weeks. So in addition to the things I have already posted earlier this month, I’m grateful for:

*My snuggly blankets! Silly I know but curling up in one is so relaxing to me.
*When our big awesome family gets together. You never know what will happen but we always seem to have a great time!
*All the incredible holiday sweet treats this time of year (especially from my aunt Linda). Makes it feel more like the holidays.
*For our home that keeps us safe and protected. Truly a blessing.
*For my friends that are always there for me no matter what even if we live far apart. Thank goodness for FaceTime calls and Zoom!
*Being able to travel again and experience new adventures. Creating memorable moments.
*The beautiful weather we get to experience here along the Carolina coast. We get a taste of all the seasons.
*Being able to help with several charities that are near and dear to me. To see joy on people’s faces is a feeling that can’t be described.
*Having a terrific camera on my phone so I can capture memories everyday.
*Watching holidays movies, both the classics and the new ones. I love them!
*Star gazing on a clear night. This is the best especially great when there is a meteor shower.
*Reconnecting with old friends. Always nice to catch up.
*Hugs from my family. These are the best!
*Taking walks along the beach. The ocean, the sound of the surf, the sand beneath my feet - all of it makes me so relaxed and happy.
*Sitting in the rocking chair on the front porch with my main man. The best way to spend the evening.
*Putting together a jigsaw puzzle
*Watching all the different types of wildlife that call our property home. It seems we have a bit of everything visiting lately!

I’m grateful to experience the change in seasons

I’m grateful to experience the change in seasons especially the Fall when the leaves of the trees show off with magnificent colors. But each season has it’s own unique features and experiences. Watching nature is truly beautiful.

I’m so grateful for times when I can rest and rejuvenate. We all need this and I think we have a tendency to forget to take care of ourselves especially this time of the year. Do something special for yourself!
